James Pasakos,
Pasakos is an artist who features images of the Melbourne Docklands and Port Phillip Bay in his artworks. His childhood was largely spent around these areas and these images are reflected within his work. Over the years he has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Australia and internationally, methods at university were in Printmaking and Drawing. His works can be seen as surreal and atmospheric. They are rich in colour and evoke a sense of mystery. They can be quite dark that bring a personal insight of the artist. New and ongoing works have developed and explore travel, memory, identity and belonging. Greek landscape images appear dreamlike, surreal and mythic. These works connect both worlds for the artist, Melbourne and Greece (KOS island), they serve as a metaphor for a mysterious journey and a portal of a sense of place. Pasakos is currently a Visual Arts Art Lecturer at the Arts Academy, Federation University Australia - Ballarat. IG: @jamespasakos EM: art@jamespasakos.com WEB: http://www.jamespasakos.com |
