Having relocated to Ballarat from the south west of Western Australia, I am enjoying becoming part of the art community here in Soldiers Hill and Ballarat itself. As a self-taught artist and having used many mediums over the years, I have now settled into primarily using oils on canvas or board. Inspiration comes to me from regular plein air sessions in a variety of locations around Ballarat and further afield. Being in nature is my joy. I incorporate the use of palette knives and various scrapers to give my works an impressionistic, looser look and feel, which also shows the texture of the paint, which is exciting to me. |
